Each player receives: 18-holes of golf, cart, t-shirt, sleeve of blue balls, and hog roast with drinks.
Prizes to longest putt, longest drive, closest to the pin. Skins available at $20.
Check-in for the Blue Ball Open will begin at 1pm on Saturday, August 14th. All players will receive cart and green fee for 18 holes, tickets for door prizes, as well as prizes for various contests throughout the afternoon. Shotgun start at 2pm. A hog roast will follow the day’s 4-person scramble tournament. Guests may also opt to attend the hog roast only, at a reduced fee of $25.

July 1st 2010 - A new event has been added to this years schedule. A 1 ball, 2 ball, 3 ball, 4 ball tournament will be played on July 25th with 2pm shot gun start. This will be a full handicap ABCD blind draw event. This will be a cash entry of $25 per player and no food or beverage will be included. All prizes will be paid out in cash and we will have seperate men's and women's divisions.
Looking for 16 ladies who want to play in this event. We are not quite sure why the ladies participation has dropped off this year but we are in danger of not being able to play ladies events if we can't get enough players to sign up for events. If you have any suggestions please let us know how we can increase ladies participation.

We had a great weekend for this year’s Member Guest event. 48 teams played in 8 flights in this year’s event with 8 different flights participating. We had lots of fun and lots of friendly competition. Thanks to all of our members and guest who played in this year’s event. June 22nd 2010 - We have a number of buddy match plays in the losers bracket that are past the deadline. The top teams need to make the contact and get the matches on the books. Since we have been so busy with outings the past 2 weeks I have extended the deadline for the June 21st drop dead date by 1 week to June 29. Any matches not played by then will be blind drawn or forfieted depending on circumtances. The shedule is open Friday am and Saturday am all day Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Get together and get these matches in. Subs {any players whose teams have been eliminated} are available to play if partners can't get together.

May 19th 2010 - The 2010 Match Play Club Championship has been posted. Please note the drop dead dates and make sure you get you matches scheduled. The Entry Fee $25 have been charged to your accounts. If you are on the top of the bracket it is your reponsibilty to make the first contact with two dates and times that you are available to play your match. After that it is up to your opponent to agree or come up with two dates and times of his own that he could play. This continues until you agree upon a date and time. Any matches not played by drop dead dates will be determined by either a coin flip or at the tournament directors discreation.
Don't delay get your first round matches scheduled as the middle two weeks in June 9th through 26th are very busy and we will have limited access to the course for those two weeks. The first drop dead date for the men's bracket is June 6th and for the women's bracket it is June 19.

May 10th 2010 - The 2010 Jerry Dietrich Memorial Scholarships have been awarded for 2010. This year we are able to pay five scholarships to deserving students who work or are associated with area golf courses.
The winners are Evan Lewis an IPFW student from Fort Wayne In. Evan is a Business Finance major at IPFW and is employed at Cedar Creek Golf Club. Evan will receive a $1500 scholarship. The next winner is Cole Sherman. Cole is a Mechanical Engineering Technology major at IPFW and is employed by Cedar Creek Golf Club. Cole will receive a $1000 scholarship. Winner number three is Samantha Persyn. Samantha is a senior at Leo High School and will be attending Purdue University in the fall. Samantha intends to enter into the nursing program at Purdue. Samantha is a club house employee at Cedar Creek Golf Club. Samantha will receive a $1000 scholarship. The next winner is Bob Bragg. Bob is a Sports Management major at Saint Francis University. Bob is a varsity golfer at Saint Francis and works at Pond-A-River Golf Club in Woodburn In. Bob is from Antwerp Ohio and is a $1000 winner. Alexis Meeks a senior at Leo High School and will be attending IUPUI in the fall as a business major. Alexis has been a caddie at the Fort Wayne CC and is also employed at Cedar Creek Golf Club. Alexis was a three sport varsity letter winner at Leo and will be playing Volleyball at IUPUI in the fall. Alexis is a $1000 scholarship winner.
Congratulations to all of the 2010 Dietrich Memorial Scholarship winners. This scholarship is funded by a golf tournament every fall at Cedar Creek. This year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, October 10. We would love to have you get a foursome together to play in and support the Dietrich Memorial Scholarships. This Memorial Scholarship was started by the family; friends and members at Cedar Creek after a tractor accident took the life of Jerry Dietrich while working at Cedar Creek. In the past two years we have been able to award over $10,000 in scholarships to deserving golf course employees from area golf courses. Congratulations to this year’s winners and thanks to all who support this event.

May 3rd 2010 - The team of Steve Funk, Scott Murphy, Kevin Kauss, Donna Funk and Brian Davis captured the annual Derby day scramble with a great score of 55. They lapped the field and had the only team skin to go along with their victory. The team won $350 {$70 per player} and the skin was another $450 for a team total of $800. Second place was won on the backup systen with a score of 60. Second was Mike Davis, Walt Schoonover, Jim Bozell, Jim Vasil and third was Jim Trentadue, Bill Neumann, Karen Turner, Todd Jacquay and Brad Johnson. Second paid $54 per player and third paid $40 per player. We had a big tie for fourth with 6 teams backing up. Brian Lonergan, Keith Thomas, Dustin Balser,and Karen Bartles won out over Billy King, Joe Bryant, Rick Nelson and Ron Bakalar. Fourth paid $33 per player and fifth piad $27 per player. A great time was had with lots of Derby winners. 1st place berby bets paid $28, Second place paid $20 and third place paid $16 all on $5 bets. A special thanks to Dwight Johnson for the Karaoke entertainment. It's amazing how talented our membership is, they can golf, dance and sing.
The next event is a 6-6-6 and this event will be handicaped and flighted so you can get any partner you would like and still be able to compete in your flight. We will have a mixed/women's alternate division for any teams who are interested in playing in that division. This event will be teed off with tee times on Sunday, May 30, with times running from 11am to 2pm.

We are continuing to add events for this golfing season. We will be hosting a second member guest this year. This event will be the traditional two man team event played in 6 team flights. Each team in each flight will play 5 - 9 hole matches over two days. The event is scheduled for Friday June 25th starting at 2pm and finishing up on Saturday June 26 starting at 2pm. We are planning a nice dinner and great entertainment to bring wives and friends to following Saturday's round. We are still having the annual 6 man team Member Invitational on July 17 so keep that on your schedule. This event is limited so be watching for a sign -up sheet soon.
We are also planning on a Firekeepers golf and casino trip on Saturday June 19. The day will start with an 8am golf tournament at Cedar Creek followed by a chartered bus trip to the firekeepers casino. We will be returning to Cedar Creek with an arrival time of 1:30am following a day of golf and gambling. The bus and golf portion of this trip is limited to men and we will have only 48 participants for this event. Watch for the sign-up comming soon.

October 11th 2009 - Jerry Dietrich Memorial Results:
Thanks for all who participated and donated to this year’s Dietrich Memorial Big Hole Scramble. The course was a little wet and the Big Holes seemed too small on some of the greens but fun was had by all. We had a great raffle table with over 80 prizes on it and 18 great auction items that were auctioned off during the evening. I can’t thank those who donated enough. You guys really came through again this year. “Thank You” to everyone who donated and participated in this year’s event.

September 21st 2009 - 2009 Club Championship
We had a great weekend for this year’s Club Championship. The weather was great. The food and drink was plentiful and the competition was fierce. The complete results for the entire field can be found on the menu page under club championships.
Congratulations to all of the participants and thanks for playing in this year’s event.
This year’s Member of the Year is Dorsey Roth. Dorsey has been a member for 34 years or so I’m getting to old to remember exactly. He lives on hole #8 and has always been there for us whenever we needed anything. He has been a friend to many of us over the years and is a deserving winner of this award. Thanks for being a good friend and good neighbor for the past 34 years.
Most improved players this year are Gary Woods and Karen Bartles. Both players have worked hard to improve their games this year and it has shown in their scoring averages. Congratulations to Gary and Karen.
Grand Prix players of the year go to Jim and Vicki Murphy. They both had great years and played in every club event this year. Both of their victories came down to high finishes in the club championship. Thanks to all who participate in all of club events. Congrats also to the Gross & Net Club Champions. Jimmy Joseph and Beth Haffner both had 1 shot victories this year, with Jimmy shooting 145 and Beth shooting 170. May 28th 2009 - Congratulations to the following recipients of the Jerry Dietrich Memorial Scholarship: Ashley Mueller, Ronald Carlson, Stephanie Strang, Keri Lencke, and Logan Powell. Ashley Mueller is an employee at Pine Valley Country Club in Fort Wayne and is a sophomore at Purdue studying dietetics. Ronald Carlson is an employee at Glendarin Hills Golf Club in Angola, and will be a sophomore at Saint Leo University this fall, studying entrepreneurship and family business. Stephanie Strang, Keri Lencke, and Logan Powell are all employees at Cedar Creek Golf Club in Leo. Stephanie plans to attend Indiana University and will major in business. Keri will be attending Bethel College to study education. Logan will be attending IPFW in the fall and will major in criminal justice.
This scholarship fund was set up in honor of Jerry Dietrich who tragically lost his life in a tractor accident at Cedar Creek Golf Club in September of 2008. This scholarship was founded by the generosity of local businesses, the members and patrons of Cedar Creek Golf Club, and the family of Jerry Dietrich.
Each of the recipients has received a $1000 scholarship to their college of choice. Congratulations again to each of the winners, and thank you to all who made this scholarship fund possible! This year’s Jerry Dietrich Memorial Fundraiser will take place Saturday, October 10 at 1pm.
