Tony's Golf Tip of the Week
June 28th 2009 - On the backswing, it's crucial to keep weight on the inside of the right foot, and maintain a slight bend in the knee. Failure to do this can mean poor contact and a loss of power. As you take the club back, imagine that the right knee is braced and solid like a wall. This helps your upper body coil behind the ball, so you can make an aggressive move through the shot.

Men's Invitational Sign Up
June 16th 2009 -  The 2009 Men's Invitational sign up is up. We are accepting 25 teams and we have 23 teams already signed up to play. The format is a 6 man Texas Scramble. You must have at least two guests on each team but you may play with up to 5 guests on any team. All players must have  verified scores for us to figure a handicap, or a usga handicap, or league average to be eligible to play. The event is July 18th at 1pm. Entry fee is $600 per team. We have beautiful tourney favors, great food and lots of beverage.  Get your team signed up today.

June 9th 2009 - Congratulations to Dwight Johnson, who on Saturday, June 6 hit a hole-in-one on hole 13 at 137yds. Witnesses were Tom Nix, Bill Beymer, Brian Lonergan, and Fred Spade. Way to go Dwight!

Jerry Dietrich Scholarship Winners
May 28th 2009 -

Congratulations to the following recipients of the Jerry Dietrich Memorial Scholarship: Ashley Mueller, Ronald Carlson, Stephanie Strang, Keri Lencke, and Logan Powell.  Ashley Mueller is an employee at Pine Valley Country Club in Fort Wayne and is a sophomore at Purdue studying dietetics.  Ronald Carlson is an employee at Glendarin Hills Golf Club in Angola, and will be a sophomore at Saint Leo University this fall, studying entrepreneurship and family business.  Stephanie Strang, Keri Lencke, and Logan Powell are all employees at Cedar Creek Golf Club in Leo.  Stephanie plans to attend Indiana University and will major in business.  Keri will be attending Bethel College to study education.  Logan will be attending IPFW in the fall and will major in criminal justice. 

This scholarship fund was set up in honor of Jerry Dietrich who tragically lost his life in a tractor accident at Cedar Creek Golf Club in September of 2008.  This scholarship was founded by the generosity of local businesses, the members and patrons of Cedar Creek Golf Club, and the family of Jerry Dietrich. 

Each of the recipients has received a $1000 scholarship to their college of choice.  Congratulations again to each of the winners, and thank you to all who made this scholarship fund possible!   This year’s Jerry Dietrich Memorial Fundraiser will take place Saturday, October 10 at 1pm. 


Derby Day Scramble Results
May 4th 2009 -
 We had a great turn-out for the Derby Day Scramble. 23 mixed teams played in this years event, followed by a great horse race and dinner. I won't call the karaoke "great" but it was entertaining. Thank you Dwight Johnson for setting up and running the karaoke. We will do it again.
 We did have 5 big winners on the first place derby horse. Our $5 bets paid $68, about 13-1 in our game.

Cedar Creek Junior Golf Camp
April 28th 2009 - It is time again to get the young people in the area on the golf course. Cedar Creek will be holding their annual junior golf camp this summer. Please see the link to the left for more information. What a great opportunity to expose young people to a wonderful lifelong activity.
